“I came to Solution 1 to join a Leanfit challenge group about a year ago. Before then, I would go through times where I would workout and try to eat right but never really had the focus. I had gotten up to almost 250lbs. I was worried that I might not be “good enough” to do some of the movements/lifts required of me, but the Leanfit Class was a great gateway into the community and has gotten me hooked.
I crushed the challenge and lost 29.5 lbs in six weeks. My second goal has been met in that a year ago, I was buying size 38 jeans but recently I had to finally break down and go buy new jeans as they were getting way too big. I ended up buying size 34! The best way to describe how this has changed me and who I am, is that I have more energy, I’m stronger, and more confident. I enjoy the internal debate I have each time I come in to Solution 1 and can choose, “Do I do crossfit or Leanfit today?” It is really a family here.
The coaches are so amazing; they push you just enough to really hate them during the workout, but love them afterwards. Each workout is a challenge and as much as we all complain during, it is really a great feeling when you get done. What is great is each person is there to make their own gains, but it isn’t about just them- if you are struggling there is always someone there to pick you up.
Additionally, competing in all the ridiculously fun holiday community workouts have been some of the most powerful moments for me. At the Memorial Day workout Murph, I had only been at the gym a few months and wasn’t sure if I should participate, but went for it. That last mile run was horrible, but then having the S1 family come out and push me made me dig that little bit deeper.
To others who are considering a change like this, I want people to know, it will be hard, and you will maybe think you are not going to make it, but push through and challenge yourself for in the end it is all worth it, it has been for me.”
