Meet Solution 1 Coach: Ben Bond
I am a Elementary Physical Education Teacher in the Blue Valley School District. I teach K-5 physical education and coach middle school football. I played football, basketball, & ran track in high school. I’ve been doing Crossfit for the past 6 years and have been coaching CrossFit for the past 5 years. I’m a CFL1 trainer and currently studying for my CFL2 course which is this June.
My favorite type of workout would be something that tests all the areas in CrossFit (Metabolic Conditioning, Gymnastics skills, & Weightlifting). Some people are really GREAT in one of those areas in CrossFit but you can really start to see your overall fitness level when you can do a workout that tests all 3 of these areas. A good example of that would be 4 rounds for time: 800m run, 15 C&J (135/95), 10 Ring MU’s. Hitting all 3 areas of CrossFit foundations can really tell you where your fitness level is and if are lacking any one particular area.
Fitness to me means being prepared for anything and everything in LIFE. In CrossFit we call that GPP (General Physical Preparedness). That’s what I love about CrossFit!!! We train all areas of fitness so we can be able to run long distances or short sprints, lift heavy things or lift not so heavy thing many times over and over, jump up and over things or pull up and over things. When you train in CrossFit nothing is left to chance!
CrossFit helps me reach my fitness and life goals by preparing me for all types of situations. running, jumping, lifting, etc. Plus it’s all constantly varied so I never get bored.
love the competitive aspect of CrossFit because I’m such a competitive person. Secondly I would say I love the community aspect of CrossFit where everyone is pushing you and at the same time encouraging you to do your best!
What I love about coaching CrossFit is seeing that moment when it finally CLICKS with an athlete and they have mastered a new skill or set a new PR. That’s the best feeling as a coach. Also sharing that passion for CrossFit that I have and helping others reach their highest potential as an athlete and overall as a human being!
People need to realize CrossFit is for ANYONE!!! It’s scaleable for any age, disability, etc. That’s the beauty of CrossFit!! CF will help you reach your goals better than any other type of fitness program, GUARANTEED!!!
